"White" At The New Victory Theater
November 4-22 [Ages 2-5] The Drama Desk Award-nominated show “White” last played at the New Victory during a sold-out run in 2011, and it’s making its return this month! Though the show is created for very young audiences, it has stunning visuals and a witty script that is sure to entertain adults as well. Canstruction at Brookfield Place
November 5-16 [All Ages] Canstruction is back in New York! The annual charity competition has architects, engineers, contractors, and students design and build huge structures comprised completely of full cans of food. The goal is to raise public awareness about world hunger while highlighting the participants’ creativity. After the competition ends, all of the canned food is donated to the City Harvest. "The Secret World Inside You" at AMNH
November 7-August 14, 2016 [All Ages] This fall, the American Museum of Natural History will debut “The Secret World Inside You,” an exhibition that explores the science behind human health, focused on microbes—the tiny, invisible organisms that live in and on our bodies. The exhibit will take visitors on a tour of the human body, making stops at places where microbes thrive, like the skin, mouth, and gastrointestinal tract. "Disney On Ice: 100 Years of Magic" at the Barclays Center
November 10-15 [All Ages] Disney on Ice is celebrating its centennial with all of your favorite characters at “Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic.” The cast of more than 50 skaters includes Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Goofy, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Ariel, Snow White, and Tiana. There is a special story with the characters of “Frozen” where Anna, Elsa, and Olaf discover that true love is the greatest magic of all. There is also a sing-along to over 30 of Disney’s most iconic songs such as “Let It Go,” “You’ve Got a Friend in Me,” and “Hakuna Matata.” $15-$150; show times vary. "Alvin and the Chipumks: Live on Stage!" at Kings Theatre
November 14 [All Ages] The touring, interactive “Alvin and the Chipmunks: Live on Stage!” is making a stop in Brooklyn. Filled with music and excitement for all ages, the show features the Chipmunks and Chipettes, based on the characters from the “Alvin and the Chipmunks” movies, singing hits by artists like One Direction, Maroon 5, Carly Rae Jepsen, Elvis Presley, and more! The show follows Alvin and co. as they plan a big charity concert to save the site of the Woodstock music festival. Gingerbread Lane at the New York Hall of Science
November 14-January 10, 2016 [All Ages] Gingerbread Lane, the incredible, entirely edible village of gingerbread houses, will return to the New York Hall of Science this month for the duration of the holiday season! Entirely planned, built, and crafted by chef John Lovitch, his 2013 and 2014 villages have won the Guinness World Record for largest gingerbread village. Come check out this year’s tasty creation, which will cover 500 square feet and feature more than 1,050 edible houses. Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden
November 21-January 8, 2016 [All Ages] The New York Botanical Garden’s annual Holiday Train Show is back this month and bigger than ever! This year’s exhibit will cover 3,000 square feet of additional space, with room for dozens of new G-scale trains, bridges, and a quarter mile of track. These amazingly detailed mini locomotives will speed past beloved sights like the Brooklyn Bridge, Statue of Liberty, and Rockefeller Center, recreated with natural materials like bark and leaves. Plus, check out the rest of the garden’s 250 acres and enjoy special tours, musical performances, and holiday activities for kids throughout the season. "Who is Duke Ellington?" Family Concert at Jazz at Lincoln Center
November 21 [All Ages] Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Jazz for Young People series kicks off with “Who is Duke Ellington?” a tribute to one of jazz’s great composers. Led by Wynton Marsalis, the Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra will give an interactive performance following Ellington’s journey from DC to New York City, where his discovery of the Blues and the development of his own innovative ideas would forever change the jazz landscape. Winter's Eve at Lincoln Square
November 30 [All Ages] November 30th marks the 16th Annual Winter’s Eve at Lincoln Square. New York’s largest holiday festival features live music from established artists as well as newcomers. "Dvořák: Exploring the New World"
December 5-6 [Ages 3-7] The Little Orchestra Society is well-known for its family concerts and music education and community engagement programs. Its core belief is that access to live classical music should be available to all members of the community. In its inaugural season, LOS Kids is a new concert series for 3-7 years olds that introduces youngsters to some of the classical greats. December’s concert, “Dvořák: Exploring the New World,” will focus on the work of the legendary Czech composer Antonin Dvorak. $56-176; various times.
