Jenkinson’s Boardwalk in Point Pleasant Beach is full of attractions, rides, food, and fun for the whole family–with rollercoasters and thrill rides as some of the biggest draws of the experience. The Flitzer Roller Coaster was one of the most popular coasters in the amusement park area of the boardwalk, but escalating labor, maintenance, and upkeep costs moved Jenkinson’s to shut that coaster down and replace it with three new rides that offer something for everyone in the family.
“We selected the rides through careful market research and analysis,” says Alexander Taylor, a marketing strategist for Jenkinson’s. “Also, being that we are a smaller amusement park in terms of size and area to work with, we needed to find attractions that fit our space, as well as meet ride height rules and restrictions. We are always looking for new and innovative ways to add attractions to capture our guests’ attention and to enhance their overall experience at Jenkinson's Boardwalk.”
Check out the new rides taking the boardwalk by storm this summer:
Tidal Wave, a new ocean-themed family coaster, will be able to hold 20 people as they spin and soar through the air, spinning clockwise at top speeds of 20 mph. Tidal Wave costs 12 emusement credits. Kids must be 36-47 inches tall to ride with an adult or taller then 48 inches to ride alone.
If kids aren’t in the mood for a coaster, they might like Fun Slide, a giant three-lane slide they can race down in burlap sacks. Fun Slide costs 5 emusement credits, and kids must be at least 42 inches tall to ride alone or 32 inches tall to slide with an adult.
Jenkinson’s last new attraction is Flying Buccaneers, perfect for the littlest ones in the bunch. Kids and parents can ride together in their own vessel and control their speed, strength and motion while traveling in big looping circles. Little pirates need 7 emusement credits to ride Flying Buccaneers.
