AppleTree Day Care Center, located in Bayside, recently expanded it’s learning center to include two more classrooms to accommodate a larger number of children.
Children can socialize together by engaging in free play, such as digging in the sand table.
Due to popular demand, the AppleTree Day Care Center on Bell Boulevard has recently expanded from three classrooms to five. At AppleTree, students spend their time learning about the topic of the day, such as a lesson on caterpillars turning into butterflies. Each classroom focuses on socializing with children their own age, sharing, expanding vocabulary, and more. Every day is filled with different activities, such as free play, circle time, and nature walks; no two days are the same.
The day care, open to children ages 8 months to 5 years, offers extracurricular activities to its students such as art classes, piano lessons, and Chinese language classes. Children who have graduated from AppleTree Day Care are invited back on the weekends to learn Mandarin from one of the fluent teachers.
The day care center strives to meet the needs of children by differentiating and challenging them so they are ready for the next level of learning. “We’ve been referred to as a school where the children come out with more than they are supposed to,” says Carolina Tapia, education director of AppleTree Day Care. “They are more prepared academically, mentally, socially, cognitively, and in other aspects of development.” The day care keeps ongoing relationships with students’ parents so that they know that their children are being nurtured and well taken care of.
The day care is open year round from 8am to 6pm.
