The Center for Arts Education has announced that it is now accepting applications for the 2011-2012 Parents As Arts Partners program, which is focused on the twin goals of increasing parent engagement in public schools and providing quality arts programming for students and their families.
Parent participation and exposure to the arts are key to enhancing student academic performance and a strong school community — through Parents As Arts Partners, families engage in dynamic, hands-on workshops in theater, visual arts, dance, music, and digital media.
Parents As Arts Partners is offered to schools at a heavily subsidized rate of $300 (it costs more than $2,500 to run).
The deadline for applications is November 4, 2011.
