Founded by two sisters with a love for responsibly sourced, natural products, Baby Mantra has created a complete product line of US-made, all-natural, and organic baby skincare products, including baby lotions, oils, Mommy Body butter, and shampoo and body wash, available nationwide at retailers such as Duane Reade and Babies “R” Us. To learn more about Baby Mantra’s all-natural products, we caught up with Baby Mantra’s president, Julius Peter.

For someone unfamiliar with Baby Mantra, how would you describe the company’s mission and core products?

Baby Mantra’s mission is to envision, develop, and deliver the highest quality skin care products, and to do its part to improve the well-being of children around the world using only the finest earth-friendly, natural ingredients. 91m30Td+LtL._SX425_

It seems like there is a wealth of all-natural and organic baby products on the market–what inspired co-founders Nupoor and Vinnie to start their own company?

When Nupoor had her first child, there were not many products in the market that adhered to the values important to her in the baby skin care category. A deep appreciation for natural skin care was ingrained in her at very young age, as her mother relied greatly on the use of all-natural home-based remedies growing up. She decided to develop her own products with the help of her sister Vinnie. As her kid(s) grew older, other moms started requesting little vials of her products for their children on a regular basis. It struck both Nupoor and Vinnie that it was probably time to incorporate a company and introduce the products to moms nationwide.

What differentiates Baby Mantra from other natural skincare products for babies?

Many products say they are natural, but very few have their products certified as natural. In some cases, [only] a few products from a large line of products make it through certification. In the case of Baby Mantra, every single product (six in total) is certified by the Natural Products Association. We use no artificial fragrances–only essential oils. Our products are composed of rich but simple ingredients like coconut oil, lavender, shea butter, apricot and sunflower. In addition, all products are Made in the USA. All products are gluten-free and certified cruelty-free by PETA.  Lastly, all products (except the lotion, due to the presence of a yoghurt extract) are vegan.

Can you tell us a little bit about Baby Mantra’s commitment to the environment, and how this is manifested in Baby Mantra’s products and culture?

At Baby Mantra, sustainability means making every day better for not just our consumers, but also the planet, through how we act, how we create new products, how we innovate, and how we deliver goods and services to our customers. It is about engaging our consumers with new and exciting products and services that are better for their well-being and the environment. It’s about operating responsibly in our supply chain and treating our employees and stakeholders fairly. It’s about providing health and hygiene education to parents and to children.  It is about adhering to a 100 percent cruelty-free pledge as it relates to product testing. And it is about reducing our carbon footprint by driving change by operating within the values of our organization.
