This week’s
round-up of classes (and other helpful or fun experiences) for new and
expecting parents include:—
1. Sibling
Prep — The St. Luke’s Roosevelt Birthing Center is Manhattan’s only in-hospital birthing center and they offer an incredible range of prenatal and postnatal education
classes. We saw one on Sibling
Preparation and thought “Perfect” for those second-timers who may need it. See the website’s classes page for more info and to inquire.
2. Breastfeeding Support — Wherever you are in the city, chances are you can find a support group run by a certified
lactation consult. The New York
Lactation Consultants Association posts a handy list of
consultants and the locations they use to run support groups. But keep in mind that that certain consultants
my work out of other convenient locations as well, so the best thing is to
contact one who seems to near enough to you.
3. Songs For Seeds — apple seeds signature
class, songs for seeds,
is a rockin’ music program that
encourages children newborn to five years to sing, dance and play along with
a live, three-piece band. The beloved class is so in demand they even
offer it locations beside their own. And we know the secret ingredient: it was developed with one of our favorite
kid music performers, Mr. Ray.
Enjoy!
