It’s always a sunny day at Sesame Place. And now it’s sunnier than ever! Sesame Place has been transformed into a birthday wonderland to celebrate its 35th Birthday. Wow. That’s a pretty big number. I bet Count von Count loves counting to 35.
In true Sesame style, there’s an educational element to the birthday celebrations, including 35 candles on the cake, numbers throughout the park, and lots of bright colors. It looks cool and there’s a lot to learn. When you enter the park there are balloons in all the colors of the rainbow, giant birthday candles, streamers, and confetti everywhere. Even the cute Sesame Street character topiaries are styled in birthday fashion. But the real showstopper is the larger-than-life inflatable birthday cake. It is so big…way bigger than Big Bird. And it looks good enough to eat.
The icing on this birthday cake was that all of my favorite Sesame furry friends were there to celebrate and dressed to impress in their birthday best, too. From Elmo’s party hat to Zoe’s birthday tiara, I loved the Sesame Fashion Show. Plus, there were new and exciting character photo spots throughout the park to capture all the magical moments (like when Zoe and I danced together).
The party continues with three new rides and my personal favorite is the Castle Swing. Speaking of the number three, now that I’m 3 and bigger than ever, there is bigger fun to be had. While my baby sister loved seeing “Elmo the Musical,” I loved all the new and exciting rides I am now tall enough to ride. I had to check them all out. And some one…two…and even three times!
But the part that really wins my heart is the part called Dine With Me! My family shared a special birthday meal with my furry friends at Sesame Place. I was so excited that I ate hot dogs, mac and cheese, and Jell-O. And my baby sister even ate mac and cheese with me to celebrate her first visit to Sesame Place. Then Abby, Cookie, and Count came and sat with us while we ate. I was so excited that I made Gigi move so that they could sit right next to me (sorry Gigi). My heart was fluttering with excitement but I totally kept my cool and composure. My baby sister, on the other hand, couldn’t stop screaming and squealing with delight. It kept getting better and better when we danced and partied the lunch away Sesame-style to Sesame classics like “C is For Cookie.” It was one big happy family moment.
We topped off a fantastic day with the new Neighborhood Birthday Party Parade featuring a birthday float, colorful birthday décor, sparkly cupcakes, and music. I danced and sang along and Daddy gave me a piggy back ride so I didn’t miss a beat. Literally. It is a blissful birthday bash and not to be missed. Happy Birthday to you, Sesame Place!
