Destination Sciencecamp is adding four new themes to its summer programming. The camp runs on one-week sessions and campers may choose to attend up to four weeks of camp. The camp aims to help children make fun discoveries, while participating in engaging activities and building cool science projects.
Themes include:
- Super Hero Physics Science Camp, where campers will build their own Super Hero Race Car while experimenting with open and closed circuits, wheels, friction and Newton’s Laws of Motion.
- Space Quest Science Camp campers will build & command their own Millennium Starship and will explore the forces of acceleration and friction to create, launch, and race the mind-blowing Land Rocket Explorer.
- Roller Coaster Science Camp where campers build their own T-Rex roller coaster and will engineer and take home a carnival of fun physics projects including: a magnetic game, a light-up bubble factory, and air catapults.
- Robot Challenge Science Camp, where campers discover and share the super scientific principles behind robotics as they build their own team of wacky robots, including Mini Bug Bots, a Lego-compatible Sonic Speedy Bot, and a Programmable Pet-Bot that completes missions & even delivers your voice messages.
“We have a great culture of involving all of the kids to mesh in small groups, to focus on life skills, such as team work and leadership and responsibility and we really make that a common thread through out each week,” says camp director Kathy Heraghty.
Registration is now open for Summer 2016.
