This month, Engineering for Kids, a franchise that promotes learning about engineering, began offering its program in Nassau County. Traveling educators from the science, technology, engineering, and math program visit groups to provide a non-traditional learning experience.
Started in 2006, Engineering for Kids is a global company that provides STEM education at places ranging from summer camps to classrooms. Designed for children ages 4 to 14, the program places a strong emphasis on engineering. Part of the company’s goal is to provide non-traditional learning opportunities for kids through hands-on activities. The program has levels for three different age groups: Junior Engineers for ages 4-6, Apprentice Engineers for ages 7-11, and Master Engineers for ages 12-14. Each category includes different projects of varying difficulty, including civil, environmental, and chemical engineering.
Engineering for Kids also hosts birthday parties at the location of your choice. Parents can select from three themes: a LEGO Robotics party, a Levitron (magnetic trains) party, or a Blast Off Rocket party. Party add-ons include make-your-own ice cream, play dough activity, or building roller coasters, as well as goodie bags, T-shirts, pizza, juice, and paper goods.
The Nassau County franchise currently works with locations in Queens, Manhattan, and Westchester County.
