Bummed about the cooler temps this week? Cheer up! We’ve got some spectacular seasonal events on the horizon, including an annual Children’s Carnival in Queens and a family-friendly day for do-gooders in midtown Manhattan. If indoors is where you’d rather hang, choose an oink-tastic musical show, a cool science fest, or a storytelling soiree. Children’s Carnival
Queens County Farm Museum

The Queens County Farm Museum invites you to its spring Children’s Carnival in the apple orchard! There will be carnival rides, hayrides, games, prizes, and other entertaining activities. Head to the farm museum for a day of outdoor fun! Food will be available for purchase. Admission is $12. This event will also take place on Saturday, April 16 & Sunday, April 17.

Peppa Pig, George, and all their friends are headed to the Beacon Theatre for “Peppa Pig Live! Peppa’s Big Splash.” Join them for a song-and-dance adventure, games, and more in a fully immersive musical production. Based on the popular “Peppa Pig” television series, the show is filled with familiar and original songs. You and your preschooler are sure to have a blast as you sing along and help Peppa and friends fix their nursery roof! Recommended for ages 2 to 5. Tickets start at $40.

Join millions of people around the world (in 42 US states and 70 countries) as they celebrate Good Deeds Day with acts of kindness. Stop by Herald Square and “do a good deed on-the-go!” With over 40 participating organizations and numerous activities, the NYC event will warm your heart. Plant a tulip bulb in a local park, write letters to senior citizens in care centers, write thoughtful sentiments on the Good Deeds Board, donate canned goods to a food drive, and participate in other kind-hearted activities during this day-long, family-friendly event. This event is free.

Milstein Science Series: Wild Antarctica
American Museum of Natural History

Learn all about Antarctica this Sunday at the American Museum of Natural History’s Wild Antarctica science festival, part of the museum’s Milstein Science series. All ages will enjoy exploring the vast array of marine life that live underneath the frozen landscape of the world’s coldest continent. The afternoon will feature a live penguin demo, interactive activities, and performances. Free with museum admission.

Story Pirates
NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts

Let the Story Pirates take your kids on an epic storytelling adventure at the NYU Skirball Center for the Performing Arts this Sunday. Using ideas from the audience, this improv group will weave tales into songs that’ll leave children howling with laughter. Prior to the performance, (1pm) join other audience members for a free arts and crafts activity, Mad Libs, and more! This event is part of the center’s “Big Red Chair Family Series.” Recommended for ages 4-10. Tickets start at $25.

Belle da Costa Greene: A Librarian's Legacy

<p>The Morgan Library & Museum will present a major exhibition devoted to the life and career of its inaugural director, Belle da Costa Greene (1879–1950). Widely recognized as an authority on illuminated manuscripts and deeply respected as a cultural heritage executive, Greene was one of the most prominent librarians in American history. The exhibition will trace Greene’s storied life, from her roots in a predominantly Black community in Washington, D.C., to her distinguished career at the helm of one of the world’s great research libraries. Through extraordinary objects―from medieval manuscripts and rare printed books to archival records and portraits―the exhibition will demonstrate the confidence and savvy Greene brought to her roles as librarian, scholar, curator, and cultural executive, and honor her enduring legacy.</p>
