Kings County is about to get royally spicy at the Brooklyn Botanic Garden’s annual Chile Pepper Fiesta on Oct. 1. This is one of the borough’s hottest fall traditions, featuring bands from around the world — the Lost Bayou Ramblers with Violent Femmes’ Gordon Gano, Chico Mann, The Defibulators, Mariachi Tapatio, and many others. Stroll through the lush grounds, tasting goodies from master chocolatiers, vote at the Chile-Chocolate Takedown, or visit local farm stands and try sizzling salsas, pickles, kimchee and other red-hot specialities.
Kids are sure to be riveted by the masters of ceremony, Robbins & Ringold, circus masters who take the stage between acts with juggling (peppers, of course), fire eating, and other antics.
