Florida, 3 Ways: Luxury, Moderate and Budget Vacations

 LUXURY

The Ritz-Carlton Naples, which just underwent a $22 million renovation, has 32-inch LCD TVs in all rooms, and a 51,000 square-foot spa with a Spa Concierge.  The famous Ritz Kids program was completely overhauled and has been replaced by Nature’s Wonders, an environmentally focused program for kids 5-12.   Aquariums and touch tanks let kids learn about the local ecology, and certified Master Naturalists lead nature walks and an eco-sail through mangrove islands. Kids can attend with or without parents ($60 person half day, $90 full day).  Trips for teens include a boat ride around Monkey Island. For more info: (800) 241-3333; www.ritzcarlton.com.

MODERATE

The Sheraton Yankee Clipper Hotel offers a moderate place to stay beachside in Fort Lauderdale.  The hotel features two pools, a putting green, a basketball court and bocce.  Rooms include a welcome snack for kids, and one in-room movie per night.  And kids under 12 eat free.  (954) 524-5551.  Through December 31, rooms are $119 night.

BUDGET

You can stay cheaply and conveniently in Orlando — and in style. The newly renovated Regal Sun Resort in Lake Buena Vista, next to Downtown Disney, has a holiday package November 12–December 30: just $75 night, including breakfast for up to four people.  On certain days, this even includes a Disney character breakfast.  The hotel offers free transportation to Disney theme and water parks.  Rooms have a fridge for snacks, and a ‘kids recreation zone’ has games, including Nintendo Wii.  Call (800) 624-4109 or go to www.RegalSunResort.com.
