On Monday, December 9, celebrate the holidays with a good cause at the first annual “Lighting of the Ships” on the Hudson. Join Circle Line and World Yacht for an evening of lights and holiday cheer. The revelry will support two local charities, Room to Grow and Friends of Hudson River Park.
The festive boats will be decorated with over 5,000 feet of glittering Christmas lights. At 5pm, Santa Claus will make a grand entrance on the Rudolph-the-Red-Nose-Reindeer tugboat, as the crowd enjoys free photos with Santa, hot cocoa, and live caroling on the pier. At 5:45pm the boats will be lit and spectators can watch as the sparkling boats embark on a river cruise parade.
December 9. Pier 81-83, Hudson River at West 41st/42nd Street.
