With full-time jobs and young children, it can be hard to stay in touch with older relatives like parents and grandparents and let them know you are thinking of them. To help out, Tandem Lane has created a personalized monthly care package that goes out to your loved one filled with small gifts and treats for them to enjoy (essentially, like a BirchBox for grandparents).
Created by Chris Lund and Anila Venkat, Tandem Lane is inspired by their own relationships with their grandparents and the work they did with seniors at ElderBranch, the company they previously created.
How it works is that the sender chooses a 1, 3, or 6 month plan and Tandem Lane emails you requesting family photos and a personalized note to send with your box. Once they print out your photos and note, Tandem Lane packages them with snacks, games, puzzles, and other care items like soap, tasty snacks, photo albums, and classic movies on DVD.
Boxes are based off a monthly theme like Father’s Day, Mother’s Day, Spring, or Winter and are specifically created with input from caregivers, doctors, and seniors themselves. Packages are delivered on the 15th of each month and the sender receives a confirmation email with a list of the gifts inside. We love this concept because, if you involve your kids when you personalize the boxes, it’s a great way for them to feel regularly connected to their grandparents!
Plans start at $19 a month and shipping is free. To learn more, visit tandemlane.com!
