GoHealth Opens Urgent Care Centers Across Queens and Long Island

GoHealth has partnered with North Shore-LIJ to open urgent care centers across Queens and Long Island.

GoHealth
, an organization dedicated to urgent care, has partnered with the North Shore-LIJ health system to open urgent care centers throughout Queens and Long Island.

Currently, there are eight urgent care centers in the Greater New York area. The first center opened last November in Forest Hills and the most recent location opened in Elwood at the end of April. GoHealth aims to open 17 centers by the end of 2015.

Robert Korn, M.D., medical director of GoHealth, says that parents can use the urgent care centers when it may be too late to make a last-minute appointment with your child’s pediatrician or too pressing to wait at the emergency room. Urgent care centers can treat children with acute injury or illness, such as bumps, bruises, sprains, minor head injuries, or rashes. There are X-rays at all facilities that are read by North Shore radiologists.

“We’re looking for convenience without sacrificing quality and that’s a very fine balance,” Dr. Korn says. “Our focus is always on providing the highest quality care to make sure that patients get exactly what they need there.”

With the partnership between GoHealth and North Shore-LIJ, patients treated at urgent care centers can easily be referred to a North Shore physician or specialist. The centers accept most health insurances and offer a self-pay system for those without insurance. All centers are open seven days a week from 8am-8pm on weekdays and 9am-5pm on weekends.

GoHealth Urgent Care centers are located in Bay Shore, Elwood, Forest Hills, Massapequa, Plainview, and Syosset.
