Goldfish Swim School will soon open a location in Farmingdale, which is scheduled to start lessons Jan. 3, 2018 and will follow the same curriculum used at the location in Garden City.
The Farmingdale swim school will have a 4½-foot deep pool within its 9,000-square-foot facility. Swimming lessons will be offered for children ages 4 months to 12 years. Certified swim instructors will teach children water safety skills and swimming techniques such as the four basic strokes: back, breast, butterfly, and freestyle—all of which are used by swimmers at competitive levels. Goldfish Swim School in Farmingdale will have 90-degree water and a temperature-controlled viewing area for parents and caregivers.
Swim lessons at both Long Island locations will be offered year-round. A benefit of having an indoor swim school is that children do not have to take seasonal breaks from lessons.
“If you teach, and then stop, you have to start all over again when they come back. We continuously do it until they’ve mastered the skill,” says Katie Lee, co-owner of the Long Island locations of Goldfish Swim Schools. Registration for both Long Island locations is open and ongoing.
Goldfish Swim School is opening its second location in Nassau County because of a strong community demand. Lee is excited about opening the swim school in Farmingdale, an area that is undergoing growth and development with many new businesses moving in.
“We’re excited to be part of this revitalization. We’re truly right downtown in the heart of it all,” Lee says.
The Farmingdale location will also offer party packages with private pool access, decorations, and cupcakes and beverages for children.
Goldfish Swim School was founded by Chris and Jenny McCuiston in Michigan in 2006. It’s now a national franchise that has locations across the country. There are currently more than 80 schools open or in development throughout the United States and Canada.
Goldfish Swim School in Farmingdale will be located at 450 E. Main St. The indoor swim school’s other Long Island location is at 650 Stewart Ave. in Garden City. To learn more about Goldfish Swim School, call 516-267-5120 or visit goldfishswimschool.com.
