If you love plants and nature, it might get a little wormy at the Horticultural Society of New York’s 2nd Annual Green Bean Bash this Saturday, February 22. The celebration is fun-for-all-ages, featuring unique educational activities that encourage children and their parents to explore the exciting world of plants and the ecosystem. The whole family will enjoy an afternoon of games, crafts, food, and music. Junior horticulturalists can examine many species of plants (some are even carnivorous!), and learn about the role they play in our food chain, the environment, recycling and composting. And don’t forget to pose for a photo with the Hort’s special mascot Mr. Green Bean who will be greeting guests. Proceeds from the event support the Hort’s programs to improve and beautify low-income communities throughout the city and help make New York “greener.” 2-5pm. Temple Israel, 112 East 75th Street.
