Halloween 2015: Finishing Touches

Make your Halloween party extra special with fun flourishes and seasonal props. We used a variety of picks from craft stores, flea markets, and beyond!

Some of our favorite Halloween props & decorations:

*Vintage wooden crate (try local flea markets)

*Mark & Graham Copper Tray covered with burlap

*Halloween confetti from Michael’s

*Spider web table runner from Michael’s

*Gourmet crisped rice sweets from Treat House

*Orange helium-filled balloons

*Clusters of pine cones (gather your own at your nearest park)

*Fun-size candy

Gather your supplies!
Once you have the major components of your party set up, focus on the finishing touches! Some fun flourishes include seasonal glitter or confetti and colorful balloons--for an autumnal touch, tie your balloons with twine (shown here). Photo by Andrew Schwartz.
Keep it sweet!
Seasonal sweets are always a great pick for a Halloween party! The Treat House (with location on both the UES and the UWS) offers their gourmet crisped rice sweets in a variety of Halloween-inspired looks and flavors. For our treat table, we arranged the sweets on a Mark & Graham copper tray covered with a re-purposed piece of burlap for a rustic look. Photo by Andrew Schwartz.
Set the table!
Add pizzazz to your tabletop with a spooky spider web table runner, sprinkles of Halloween confetti, and clusters of real pine cones (we gathered ours from Prospect Park in Brooklyn). A jar (bedecked with ribbon and chalkboard tape) of fun-sized candy completes the scene! Photo by Andrew Schwartz.
Go rustic!
To add a variety of heights to display treats on, we used a vintage wooden crate (it's super-easy to find similar ones at local flea markets and antique stores) to display our take-home favors and to sprinkle candy on top off. You can even stick a copy of your party invite to the side of the crate to tie the theme together! Photo by Andrew Schwartz.
