DALLAS–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Dallas-based sports network company, One World Sports, broadcasted the Japan Earthquake Relief Soccer Match between Japan’s National Team, the Samurai Blue and the J-League All Star team, in support of American Red Cross Japanese disaster relief efforts. The game was played Tuesday, March 29, in Osaka, Japan and was carried on One World Sports television at 9 pm EDT.
Players took leave from their European Clubs in England, Spain, Italy, Germany, France, Belgium, Netherlands, and Russia to play in this special event. For the J-League All Stars, it marked their first action since the earthquake on March 11, which has resulted in the J-League suspending all competition until April 23.
“We are proud to support this international relief fund raising event,” said Preston Bornman, President of One World Sports. “The Japanese people are showing grace under tremendous stress and we hope the proceeds from this match will assist the American Red Cross in supporting and relieving the Japanese people in their time of need.”
One World Sports also made the game available to 15 regional sports networks across the country in an effort to build awareness and generate additional support for the ARC and Japan Relief. To donate to the American Red Cross for the Japanese Earthquake Fund, please visit their donation page.
