The Just Kidding season at Symphony Space kicks off with sketch comedy performances by the Story Pirates at 11am and 2pm. The troupe takes stories submitted by kids and turns them into funny sketches and musicals.
“Parents can expect to find a fantastic variety of the highest quality music, theatre, puppetry, and dance to be found anywhere in New York City. Everyone is entertained! The kids lives are enriched through the arts. Parents’ reputations will be cemented as heroic figures in their children’s lives (even if they won’t acknowledge it until they have kids of their own, or are at least 36—whichever comes first),” says Darren Critz, performing arts director of Symphony Space.
Fall 2017 Just Kidding performances include:
- Oct. 14 at 11am: The Moonlights (Rachel Loshak and Dean Jones)
- Oct. 21 at 2 pm: NDI Celebration Team
- Oct. 28 at 11am: Joanie Leeds and the Nightlights
- Nov. 11 at 11am and 2pm: Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers: Everybody Loves Pirates
- Nov. 18 at 11am: Elizabeth Mitchell and You Are My Flower
- Dec. 9 at 11am and 2pm: National Marionette Theatre: Pinocchio
- Dec. 16 at 11am: Billy Kelly (comedy)
“From incredibly talented musicians and comics to some of the most acclaimed puppetry in the country, we couldn’t be more pleased with the coming season. And, don’t forget: dangerous fun awaits,” said Critz in a press release.
Individual ticket prices for Just Kidding performances are $17 with discounts available for members and groups. Details about all performances are available at symphonyspace.org/justkidding.
