In celebration of its 20th anniversary, the Larchmont Music Academy will host a special ceremony on Oct. 9 at 3:30pm. The event, set to take place at the school in Larchmont, will feature a special ribbon cutting ceremony to honor the 20-year history of the Larchmont Music Academy. Mayor Lorraine Walsh will perform the ceremony.
The school, which was founded by Claudia and Steve Huter on October 9, 1998, has taught more than half a million lessons since its doors first opened. Today, the Academy has more than 800 students and 40 teachers learning to play a wide range of instruments in every genre.
The Larchmont Music Academy hosts frequent performances at both of its locations: 2089 Boston Post Road between Chatsworth and Larchmont Avenues and the Annex across the street at 2106 Boston Post Road. The school also has students who regularly perform as soloists and in ensembles in Carnegie Hall and at other venues throughout the area.
