Two years ago, when Greg Pembroke, father of two toddler-age boys, made a career change causing him to stay at home twice a week, he knew his life would become crazy in a way he’d never experienced before, but just how crazy, well, he left that up for the internet to decide…
When the inevitable tantrums of the terrible-twos, began driving Pembroke up the wall, he started snapping pictures of his kids mid-tantrum in hopes of finding some humor in all that misery.
Two years later, he created Reasons My Son is Crying. Submissions poured in almost immediately from all over the world and this site quickly became a calm in the storm that is no-apparent-reason-meltdowns (narms, if you will).
It’s the combination of the image and the reason that makes it all so funny.
* Why is that sad girl on the floor with her arm outstretched so upset? Answer: “We wouldn’t let her eat garbage out of the garbage can?”
* Why is cute boy in the big cowboy hat full of tears? Answer: “He got stuck.”
* Why is this little cutie so sad? Answer: “I wouldn’t let him eat his dad’s phone.”
You get the idea.
We recommend visiting Reasons My Son Is Crying whenever you yourself need a cathartic laugh. And now…(drum roll please) some good news: it will be available in book-form to purchase this April, and can be pre-ordered now. We have an advance copy here at New York Family and I must say, I can think of no better Mothers Day gift.
