LinguaKids, which specializes in teaching children foreign languages, recently moved to a new, bigger location in Larchmont. The facility primarily offers French and Spanish classes for kids in Westchester County.
LinguaKids specializes in teaching foreign languages, particularly Spanish and French, to children ages 3-10 years old. LinguaKids recently moved to a new location on Palmer Avenue in Larchmont. The space is much bigger than its previous location, says Michele Troch, director.
“It is a very comfortable place,” she says. “Parents now have a place to sit and there is room for more children.”
Currently, LinguaKids offers Mommy and Me classes for children ages 6 months to 2 years that last for 45 minutes. The class focuses on teaching children about numbers, colors, shapes, and more through music and movement. The class is currently offered in Spanish.
Explorers is a drop-off immersion class for 2- to 4-year-olds, offered in French and Spanish. This class is 2 hours long, and the curriculum includes activities that enhance motor skills, theater, and art projects. Voyagers and Adventurers is for ages 4 and older that encourages logical thinking through education and entertaining activities. Additionally, LinguaKids offers an after-school class in schools and for home-schooled children ages 5-10, private classes, and summer camp from June through August for children ages 3 and older.
Troch says LinguaKids is also interested in started a Chinese language class that would meet on Saturdays, depending on demand.
