On April 13 the Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo will officially open for its 48th season. The Manorville-based family attraction also released its spring 2017 schedule.
During the opening weeks, guests will have the opportunity to learn about the forthcoming baby animals, including chicks, ducklings, and kid goats, and will be able to pet and hand-feed the animals once they are born.
Though some of the park’s summer animals—such as the giraffe, camels, and lemurs—will be on vacation in Florida until May, guests will be able to enjoy a calmer visit this time of year (perfect for families with younger children). Visitors will be able to enjoy cooler weather, smaller crowds, and lower prices at the family-friendly attraction. The park is offering a reduced spring admission price starting at $14.95 per child (ages 3-12), senior (age 62-plus), or military personnel; and starting at $16.95 per adult (ages 13-61).
“We are so excited to get started on 48th season,” said Melinda Novak, the vice president/co-owner of Long Island Game Farm, in a press release. “We always love seeing the children welcome our new baby animals and we look forward to visits from the families, schools, and organizations each year. In addition to the springtime fun, we have a lot of new events, shows, and activities planned for the 2017 season.”
For opening weekend, the Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo will be open 10am-5pm from Thursday, April 13 to Saturday, April 15. The park will be closed for Easter and then open 10am-5pm on the following dates: Friday, April 21 to Sunday, April 23; Thursday, April 27 to Sunday, April 30; Thursday, May 4 to Sunday, May 7; and Thursday, May 11 to Sunday, May 14.
The Long Island Game Farm Wildlife Park and Children’s Zoo will be open seven days a week (10am-5pm Monday to Friday; and 10am-6pm Saturday and Sunday) starting Thursday, May 18.
