On Sunday, March 24 at 10am Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square is slated to unveil its 2019 flower show, arguably one of the most ‘grammable ways to welcome spring in New York City. This year’s exhibition is aptly titled Journey to Paradisios, or Journey to Paradise, and aims to bring an extraterrestrial, sci-fi twist to the store’s longstanding tradition. The springtime custom, now in its 45th year, features stunning displays of live flowers, trees, and other flora from across the globe cultivated to create otherworldly landscapes. Visitors will get a taste of outer space, without even having to leave New York.
Guests who arrive on opening day, Sunday, March 24, can expect myriad special events for the entire family from 12-4pm. Activities include aromatherapy workshops, free monogramming on handbags purchased that day, paper flower crafting classes, and live music featuring multiple DJs and a jazz band. RSVP is required at macys.com/events for certain events and space may be limited, so come early. For the little ones, Peppa Pig is making a special appearance at 1pm on the 7th floor. Children and their caregivers can enjoy meeting Peppa, balloon twisting, and face painting, among other fun activities.
Macy’s Herald Square is located at 151 W. 34 St., Midtown. Journey to Paradisios will be open until Sunday, April 7. The show is free and can be seen anytime from Monday-Saturday, 10am-10pm, and Sundays, 10am-9pm. For more information visit macys.com or call 212-695-4400.
