Love of Learning added a new online enrollment system this September as well as two new staff members to enhance the Montessori school's offerings. Sawyer, the new system, has helped streamline the process of enrolling kids, according to outgoing director Lille Craig. Francesca Love, a Love of Learning alumna, began assisting with extended hours on Sept. 4, by supporting the growth of children's cognitive skills and emotional intelligence through activities like yoga. Denise Brazeau joined the leadership team as director of programming and development.
“At Love of Learning, we have a deep belief in the value of diversity, so we are strongly committed to seeking a student body that represents varied economic and social backgrounds,” Craig says. “Just as Love of Learning offers financial aid at a variety of levels, to qualifying families across the economic spectrum, we strive to be supportive of working families who need extended care for their children in order to work.”
Love of Learning also offers “specials” for its preschool, kindergarten, and elementary school students. The tennis ancillary program is a new special this year. Other specials include chess, music lessons, sewing, knitting classes for kindergarten and elementary students, and Spanish classes for preschool children.
Love of Learning’s nature-oriented campus stands on the grounds of Camp Alvernia. The school’s Montessori education system encourages children to grow and thrive as they become leaders and self-starters.
