The Film Society of Lincoln Center hosts its second annual kid-focused series, My First Film Fest, Nov. 10-12. In addition to plenty of movie screenings, guests can enjoy events, workshops, and meet and greets with filmmakers over the weekend. There’s also free popcorn at every screening for all attendees!
My First Film Fest has a variety of screenings appropriate for adults and children of all ages. Guests can attend a work-in-progress presentation of the yet-to-be-released movie, Ferdinand, which is an animated comedy from the creators of Rio and Ice Age. Director Carlos Saldanha will be on hand to answer questions after the sneak preview of the film. There will also be a 30-minute animation workshop held by Ferdinand‘s animators after the presentation. Ferdinand will be playing on Saturday, Nov. 11 at 4:30pm, the sneak preview and workshop are both free but require an RSVP. Ferdinand is scheduled to be released in theaters starting Dec. 15.
Kids will also have the opportunity to watch 35mm classics such as Charlie Chaplin’s The Gold Rush, and Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.
My Film Fest runs from Nov.10-Nov. 12 and tickets are on sale now. A special Young Movie Lover Pass is being offered for $25 that will admit two (one adult, one child) for the whole weekend. There’s also a 3+ Film Package available for $8 for members, $9 for students and seniors, and $11 for the general public. Tickets can also be purchased for individual films for $7 for children ages 17 and younger, $9 for members, $11 for students, and $14 dollars for the general public.
