NYC-Based Health Organizations Team Up for Teen Health Fair

Top NYC healthcare organizations MetroPlus Health Plan and NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, East New York are teaming up to host a health fair for teens this weekend. The event, which will feature games, health and dental screenings, arts and crafts, music, dance sessions, and physical exams required for school and work, seeks to empower local teens about their health. It also provides an opportunity for low income kids and teens to receive the health services they need.

The health fair will take place on Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at NYC Health + Hospitals/Gotham Health, East New York, a community health center in Brooklyn. It’s open to MetroPlus members—low cost insurance for people living in all five boroughs—ages 12-21.

The MetroTeen Health Fair is part of a series of initiatives MetroPlus and NYC Health + Hospitals facilities have collaborated on to educate the community and its’ members—local youth in particular—about health and wellness.
