NYC Kids Can Master Chess At Educational Light

Riding the surge of chess’ recent popularity, not only for its sport but also its developmental benefits (like logical thinking, resilience, and risk taking), a master teacher is opening his own program this fall with classes for children as young as four years old.

After years of teaching chess at schools like Princeton Day and Mandell, Light Buggiani is opening Educational Light: School of Chess, with classes offered at two locations on the Upper East Side. There are different levels based on age and experience, and there are only ten students per class, so you can be sure your child is getting individual attention. What’s more, each student gets a free hour of private lessons to ensure mastery. Check mate!
