Each season the petitePARADE show, in collaboration with Vogue bambini, generates industry excitement and introduces an array of new brands to the toddler and tween markets. The Spring 2014 show this month, held at Industria Superstudio, was no exception. International high fashion brands such as Cavalli, Sonya Rykiel, Simonetta, Monnalisa, and Miss Grant showcased their collections next to new brands like RUUM American Kid’s Wear and Nina Shoes.
The event was star studded with celebrity appearances. Much like the “grown-up” shows in Paris and New York, the front row was a delight for people watching, but this time the A-listers were the kids, decked out in the latest trends and ready to be seen. Sean Combs, Kim Porter, and Sarah Chapman looked on proudly as daughters Chance, D’Lila, and Jessie rocked the runway.
petitePARADE opened with Truly Scrumptious, the one-year-old line from Heidi Klum sold exclusively at Babies R Us. The collection was a fashionable candy shop of color and style featuring a rainbow palate of bright hues, bold textures and patterns, and an amazing array of balloon art. The line for boys and girls featured head-to-toe looks including playwear and sleepwear.
The end of day one closed with UGG Australia, the well loved Australian company. The show paired moms and children modeling classic and new styles in a range of colors coming out for spring.
The styling and models of all the shows were spectacular, as the little ones gave it their all strutting their stuff and striking poses for the pool of paparazzi at the end of the runway.
