Astronomy Live: Edges of Space

Travel through the solar system at this Hayden Planetarium program in the American Museum of Natural History. Participants will discover the difference between planets and dwarf planets, the location of stars and galaxies, and what defines star clusters. Pre-registration is required. Tickets are $15 for adults and $13.50 for students.

Carnegie Hall Family Concert: The Declassified
Carnegie Hall’s Zankel Hall

The Declassified, which consists of some of the best young professional musicians around, will be performing at Carnegie Hall on Saturday afternoon. Let these eight prodigies introduce your kids to the wonders of classical music! This performance will include pieces by Schubert, Beethoven, and Brahms. Tickets range from $9 to $15.

NYC Kids Food Festival
Bryant Park

Attention all foodies: join Bryant Park for their annual NYC Kids Food Festival! This two-day food extravaganza will feature live cooking demos for kids with celebrated chefs, musical performances, and the Kids Balanced Plate Scavenger Hunt. Among the chefs scheduled to attend are Top Chef’s Grayson Schmitz and Food Network stars Ellie Krieger and Aaron McCargo, Jr. Kids can rock out during performances from Songs for Seeds, Super Sprowtz, Little Club Heads, Baby Loves Disco, The Dirty Sock Funtime Band, and more. General admission is free. Tickets for cooking demos are $25.

Doll Festival (Girls’ Day)

Girls ages 3 through 10 are invited to celebrate Japan’s Doll Festival (Hinamatsuri) at the Japan Society. Visitors can decorate their own dolls, enjoy music, and sample traditional festival snacks and beverages. Boys are welcome to attend. Tickets are $12.
