Join some of the country’s leading child development experts, as well as the editor of Parents Magazine, for 92 Y’s second annual parenting conference. Designed to give parents access to cutting-edge information from the leaders in the field of child development, the conference will focus on the question “what do you really need to know as a parent?” According to the director of children programming Fretta Reitzes, “Every child, and every family is unique–we want to educate parents so they learn to trust themselves to make good decisions and enjoy their children more!”
The conference will host a variety of talks on contemporary issues like like how to manage screen time, how to claim parental authority, and the differences in brain development between boys and girls. The renowned presenters include Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair, a psychologist and author of The Big Disconnect: Protecting Childhood and Family Relationships in the Digital Age; Dr. Edward Hallowell, a New York Times best-selling author and a leader in the field of ADHD; Dr. JoAnn Deak, a psychologist who studies brain development; Dr. Harold Koplewicz, founder of the Child Mind Institute, and Dr. Ron Taffel, a family therapist who focuses on raising children in the digital age. In addition to being able to listen to the experts speak, attendees will have a chance to mingle with them at a reception after the day’s events have concluded.
The event will take place on Monday, February 10th from 9:15-2:15, but parents who are unable to attend can still enjoy listening to the conference’s talks at 92y.org/livecast
