Soul Practice Yoga, owned and operated by Sally Rodriguez Hamm, certified yoga instructor, now offers kid, tween, and ladies’ night parties in your home.
As a practitioner of yoga for more than 30 years, Sally Rodriguez Hamm, a certified yoga instructor and owner of Soul Practice Yoga, is bringing the benefits of yoga and meditation to Bergen County children, tweens, and adults. Rodriguez Hamm now offers Zen Yoga Children’s Parties, Tween Zen Yoga Parties, and Yoga and Wine, a ladies’ night event combining yoga and wine tasting.
For the Zen Yoga Children’s Parties, Rodriguez Hamm incorporates the birthday party theme into the simple yoga poses, such as cobra, cat, or warrior, and renames them to fit the theme. Rodriguez Hamm says yoga stimulates the senses and motor skills, and encourages relaxation. She also does all-organic, holistic oil blending with the children. Rodriguez Hamm says she typically uses peppermint oils in the winter to keep germs at bay and lemongrass, a natural insect repellent, in the summer. For children’s parties taking place now through August, each child will get a new mat to take home.
The Tween Zen Yoga Parties involve more movement and meditation because they concentrate better than younger children and are able to set intention. “I use the grown-up terms, and I teach them in English and Sanskrit,” Rodriguez Hamm says. “I also like to work on breathing and partner poses with the tweens.”
During Yoga and Wine, women participate in 1 hour of yoga followed by a 1½- to 2-hour wine tasting with Maira Rodriguez from Maroca Wine Consulting. Rodriguez Hamm says the participants taste six different wines, and cheese, crackers, and other foods paired with the wine are included.
Rodriguez Hamm offers private and group lessons, parties, and ladies’ night yoga gatherings, Thursday-Sunday, at homes and other venues in Bergen County, NJ, and yoga mats are provided.
