Brooklyn Botanic Garden: Spring Break Discovery Week

Prospect Park: History In Your Hands “Spring Sprouts”

Kids can help prepare the potato plots for planting at the Lefferts Historic House and learn how to rotate, sift and spread the compost to enrich the soil. Make pots out of newspaper, fill with soil, and plant a seed to take home. $3 suggested donation. Daily 12-4pm. New York Aquarium: Tales of the Seven Seas

A “spring-tastic” two-day mini-camp where kids can discover how the ocean and its creatures (penguins, seals, sea lions, sea otters, walruses, and invertebrates like sea urchins) have inspired favorite historic tales. Animal visits, insider tours, and hands-on activities let kids explore the sea animals made popular by characters in children’s storybooks. $150 per child ($125 members). Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum: Camp Intrepid

The “Dark Side of the Moon” mini-camp will investigate how the moon, sun and earth’s rotation affect our everyday lives. Bronx Zoo: Dinosaur Safari

Come face-to-face with more than 20 life-like “animatronic” dinosaurs that move and roar just like the real ones that roamed the earth 200 million years ago.
