Bronx
Orchard Beach: Created by Robert Moses in 1930s, this 115-acre stretch of shoreline was once called the “Riviera of New York.” With two playgrounds and 26 courts for basketball, volleyball, and handball, there’s plenty to keep active kids occupied.
Brooklyn
Brighton Beach: Only a half hour away from Manhattan, this neighborhood beach along the Coney Island peninsula, sometimes called New York’s own “Little Russia,” is just a metro-card swipe away. nycgovparks.org
Coney Island: Every New Yorker should visit Coney Island at least once.
