in one day? Well, you will get the chance on Friday, August 26 through Sunday,

Food Glorious Food
During
Taste of Brooklyn Weekend!, with the price of museum admission ($7.50 per person, pre-registration
is required for all chef-led demos by August 22), families will have the
opportunity to sample some of the area’s most delicious eats. Chef Pierre
Thiam, restaurateur and author of Yolele!
Recipes from the Heart of Senegal, will serve up his famous African pastels
and Colette Burnett, owner of Super Wings NY, will provide her fingerlickin’
award-winning wings. If you feel like something refreshing, Organic Soul Chef
Madea Allen Gueye will be on hand to dish up her mouthwatering salads. For
dessert, Master Baker Don Paco Lopez Jr., owner of Don Paco Lopez Panaderia,
will offer a taste of his famed cakes.
The W.O.R.D. On The
Street
On
Friday afternoon, in addition to the yummy food, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum
will host W.O.R.D. UP! Words of Real
Distinction, a program dedicated to literacy and the power of reading. This
year, Master Baker Don Paco Lopez Jr. will read his children’s book, A Day at Grandpa’s Bakery. Children of
all ages will enjoy this story of two brothers who love to visit their
grandfather’s bakery. In the end, your tots will learn that baking can be fun
and family is number one!
