Get your short-term tats on before this unique pop-up space in Cobble Hill, Brooklyn, closes at the end of February.
Does your bad to the bone little troublemaker want to take a walk on the wild side? Come to the Tattly Parlor, a hip pop-up concept store in Brooklyn, and get a uniquely designed temporary tattoo for rebels of all sizes and ages during one of their Kid Sessions.
Tattly was established in Brooklyn in 2011 by designer Tina Roth Eisenberg (aka @Swissmiss to her thousands of Twitter followers) and has since gained an army of temporary wearable art followers, including being celebrated by the New York Times. Unlike other temporary tattoos, Tattly’s safe and non-toxic designs are created by a hundred of today’s most admired artists, illustrators, and designers, including Julia Rothman, Oliver Jeffers, Christoph Niemann, and more.
Children will love the parlor’s vintage flair with an attitude. Pop-up has traditional gold glass-gilded signage and custom wallpaper covered interior inspired by the classic tattoo parlors. While getting “inked” visitors can lounge in a velvet loveseat or the vintage-inspired barber’s chairs under the glimmer of the sputnik chandelier.
Besides having a variety of individual and set tattoos, from Sesame Street characters to a bejeweled boom box and Valentine’s Day hearts, the pop-up also features matching family tattoos, metallic ink, artists’ talks, and other fun events. You can even make an appointment by emailing appointments@tattly.com for your little hipster to sleeve up (temporarily). Tattoos take a minute to apply and last about 2-4 days.
