Roses, poppies, and cherry blossoms adorn the historic building built in 1902. Blue orchids and ferns line the tall, white columns. Planted daffodils and tulips make the space cheery and bright, and the freestanding and fire-red “Bouquet Of The Day” is awe-inspiring!
Run, don’t walk, to the 42nd Annual Macy’s Flower Show! It lasts for two weeks, from now through Sunday, April 3!
Visitors take a journey through regional landscapes in this year’s theme “America The Beautiful.” Each region of the United States is represented by architectural details and regional plants. The Southwest is represented by succulents, cacti, agave, and aloe vera plants. The Midwest section is filled with smoke bush, horse chestnut trees, and golden rod (which is the state flower of Kentucky, Nebraska, and South Carolina)!

Most of the plants are still alive! Macy’s team planted the flowers and trees to preserve them throughout the two weeks. After the show, Macy’s is donating cherry trees to the Girl Scouts of Dutchess County, where the Girl Scouts will plant the trees!
The Macy’s Parade Studio constructed beautiful architectural fixtures for the Flower Show including a replica of the Golden Gate Bridge, the torch from the Statue Of Liberty, and intricate French Quarter gates from New Orleans.
The Macy’s Parade Studio is comprised of a group of artists in New Jersey that are employed year-round by Macy’s to construct pieces for the Flower Show, the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, and more!
Running concurrently with the Macy’s Flower Show is the Macy’s Scent Event. Happening in all store locations across the country, Macy’s has teamed up with a group of elite perfumers to help shoppers discover their signature scents! Shoppers are guided through a plethora of scents that are classified into six different “Scent Stories.” The Scent Stories resources are also currently available on macys.com! The Scent Event lasts through April 2!
