For a Broadway-like experience, check out TADA! Youth Theater where kids put just as much of the “wow” factor into their performances as the pros do. Located at 15 West 28th Street, the theater is a gem of a place where little ones perform on a small stage giving the audience big thrills and laughs.
TADA!’s mission is simple and effective: to teach kids how to produce high-quality musical theater while they learn about commitment, responsibility, and communication. The results certainly show in the children (ages 8-18), who are nothing short of eager to express their energy, talent, and confidence through performance. All their hard work is evident from the magic that happens on stage, but beyond the theater where they perform, lifelong friendships and essential skills are just some of the benefits that children receive.
After being treated to their most recent hour-long musical, The Little Moon Theater (running through Saturday, February 16), one might be in awe of how the kids are able to expertly memorize so many songs, dance steps, and lines of dialogue. My hunch is that they genuinely love what they do so the hard work required is just part of the fun. They all seem to happily invest their time into rehearsals and training for a show that can put a smile on almost any New Yorker’s face. So if you have a theatrically inclined kid, or just a family that appreciates great performance, we highly recommend the program that’s been putting kids in the spotlight for over 25 years.
