22nd Annual Battle of the Bands
Five local high school bands will rock out at Ponquogue Beach in Hampton Bays and compete for prizes courtesy of LTV Studios, Hampton Coffee Company, Skidmore’s Sports & Styles, Francesca’s Pizzeria & Restaurant, Sky Zone Trampoline Park, IHOP, The Fudge Company, Bay Street Theater and more. Gates will open at 7 pm with special guest performances and the 22nd Annual Battle of the Bands will begin promptly at 8 pm. Throughout the night, audience members will have the chance to win prizes by answering music trivia questions.

Michelle Bonura Memorial 5K Run/Walk
Join the Inaugural Michelle Bonura Memorial 5K Run/Walk, honoring a multi-sport athlete who passed away while completing a training run on January 10th. Michelle was a 72-year-old gifted tri-athlete who was defined by her commitment to physical fitness and by her coaching and inspiring of athletes of all ages. She was a multi-talented athlete who excelled in running, swimming, cycling, golfing, skiing, dancing, and bowling. One of Michelle’s signature races was the SWR 5K, which she ran with her two sons and friends for many years on both July 4th and Thanksgiving. And to honor her memory, this inaugural race will follow in her same footsteps of that 5K course that Michelle loved running so much.

Farmingdale Medieval History Day
The Canton of Lions End, in the Crown Province of Østgarðr returns to the Village Green in Farmingdale for the Fifth Annual Farmingdale Medieval History Day. Wearing Medieval clothing of different centuries they will perform demonstrations and displays of some skills, as well as arts and crafts.

Butterfly and Bird Festival
Sweetbriar Nature Center will be hosting its Annual Festival to celebrate the opening of their Butterfly Vivarium. The day is filled with wildlife presentations, craft vendors, food trucks, and musical performances. It is rain or shine. This is a fundraiser for the non-profit.

Lenny Bruno Farms Annual Strawberry Festival
Kick off strawberry season with a day full of fun, fresh flavors, and unforgettable memories! Admission includes live music, a foam bubble party, vendor access, playgrounds, jumbo garden games, farm animal meet-and-greets, and unique photo opportunities, and more. Beyond the festival grounds, enjoy delicious eats from food trucks, shop artisan vendors, get creative with face painting and fairy hair tinsel, and check out other exciting activities for kids and teens. Visitors will learn about the holiday Eid al-Adha and create a Whirling Dervish Turkish doll. They will also see a Turkish Whirling Dervish Performance from 1 to 1:20 pm. This is a drop-in program, free with admission, and the doll is yours to keep.

Whether you’re part of the LGBTQ+ community OR a supportive ally, raise a slice and a smile to love, acceptance and kindness! Kick off PRIDE MONTH and enjoy a pizza party celebration. Then, make rainbow suncatchers to help spread kindness to our Long Island LGBTQ+ neighbors. Families are asked to bring non-perishable goods & hygiene items that will be donated to Pride for Youth’s Food Pantry.
