Still suffering the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy—not to mention the recent nor’easter, which hit many areas already afflicted by the superstorm—thousands of children and families remain without homes, schools, and offices. This Sunday, November 18, brings another great volunteer opportunity with Gymtime and The Gymtime Foundation.
The Gymtime Foundation has rented a bus to transport volunteers (ages 12 and up) to the Long Island Relief Center in Long Beach, Long Island. With the help of Tunnel to Towers Foundation, child and parent volunteers can assist with sorting donations and distributing food and supplies to Sandy victims.
All help is welcome and appreciated—you do not need to be affiliated with Gymtime to participate. Space is limited on the shuttle bus and will go to the first 50 volunteers to sign up. However, you can always join the group at the Long Beach Catholic Regional School, where Tunnel to Towers is located, between 8am-5pm.
Please call (212) 861-7732 if you are interested in participating. Bus will depart Gymtime at 9:15am and return at 4:30pm. For more information, click here.

The both heart-wrenching and inspiring tale of Stephen Siller and his family led to the formation of the Tunnel to Towers Foundation. After Stephen passed away in 9/11, his family established the charity and has since honored Stephen’s memory through various programs for firefighters, first responders, military members, and children who have lost loved ones.
