Carousel Opening Weekend at Prospect Park
Families are invited to stop by Prospect Park for Carousel Opening Weekend. Children can take their first ride of the season on the Park’s beloved carousel, located in Prospect Park since 1912! Join the Prospect Park Alliance at the $125 level and your family (up to 4 people) will recieve unlimited rides for a full year. (Thursday-Saturday) -
Last New York Family Camp Fairs of the Season!
For families with children ages 3 to teen, the city’s biggest Camp Fairs are coming up on Saturday, March 28, and Sunday, March 29. The Camp Fairs are free, child-friendly, and feature all kinds of Day Camps (in and around the city) and Sleepaway Camps (all over the Northeast). Essentially, the Camp Fairs are a wonderful opportunity for parents and child to chat with lots of Camp Directors in one convenient local setting, and ask questions about the kinds of camps that might be right for their family. "Catch Me!" at the New Victory Theater
Seeking a fresh circus show that caters to all? Look no further than Flip FabriQue’s new production of “Catch Me!” Hailing from Quebec City, Canada, this troupe of six world-class performers will put on an extraordinary 75-minute show filled with incredible physical feats at the New Victory Theater. Ages 5 and up are sure to enjoy the company’s balance beam antics and trampoline wall stunts. (Opens Saturday) -
Annual Egg Hunt in Carl Schurz Park
Celebrate Easter and the arrival of spring during Carl Schurz Park’s Annual Egg Hunt this Saturday. Kids can decorate their own egg-collecting bags and afterwards participate in one of four egg hunt rounds. Little egg hunters ages 3 and under can search for eggs in the toddler area on the Oval Lawn. There will also be photo ops with the Carl Schurz Bunny and a concert from Patrick and the Rock-a-Silly Band. (Saturday) -
Brooklyn Kids Rock at Roulette
Families and kids of all ages are invited to join Maple Street School for a day of games, fun, and music, featuring Rolie Polie Guacamole, The Good Ms. Padgett, Timbalooloo, and more! This fun fest will also include face painting, instrument making, snacks, and yummy snacks from local vendors. (Saturday) -
"Who Stole the Mona Lisa?" at 92Y
The 92Y invites ages 6 and up to an exclusive dress rehearsal of “Who Stole the Mona Lisa?” an animated film accompanied by a live orchestra performance of Stravinsky’s “The Firebird.” Plus, dancers from Christopher Caines Dance will perform to Martinu’s “The Kitchen Revue.” (Sunday) -
"The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon" at the Brooklyn Center for the Performing Arts
Crockett Johnson’s classic children’s book, Harold and the Purple Crayon, will come to life during the Enchantment Theatre Company’s stage production of “The Adventures of Harold and the Purple Crayon” at the Walt Whitman Theatre at Brooklyn College. With the help of his purple crayon, Harold will be introduced to a king in an enchanted garden, join a circus, and even journey to Mars. Featuring life-sized puppets, music, and masks, this multimedia show is recommended for ages 4 and up. (Sunday) -
Luna Park Opening Day on Coney Island
Coney Island’s Luna Park will be kicking off its 2015 season this Sunday, and kids and families are invited to start a fun-filled spring and summer with its traditional egg-cream christening of the 88-year-old Cyclone Roller Coaster. In addition to the festivities, opening day marks the debut of several new rides, and the first 100 guests in line for the Cyclone will get to ride it for free. (Sunday) -
