springtime looming—every day packs a positive punch of family
adventure. And awayyyy we go! —

the Brooklyn Children’s Museum hosts HerStory Weekend where kids they can be
empowered by events about extraordinary females like Michelle Obama and the

rendition of Sleeping Beauty.

The Whitney Museum‘s March Art School starts this Saturday
with an awesome theme: new media. Ages 8-12 can explore the 2012 Biennial with
this three-session series that utilizes non-traditional materials, like
photography and film.
It’s all about Keith Haring at the LGBT Community Center for Families
Play Day. Kiddos can tour Haring’s artwork, participate in storytime, color in
a Keith Haring coloring book and even create art of their own.
Get a jump on spring
fever
and head out to the Queens Botanical Garden for HSBC Children’s
Garden Family Day.
Spend your Saturday inside a fairy tale. The French Institute is hosting a
family day that includes a ballet, an animated film and a Little Red Riding
Hood puppet show.
Gear up for St. Patrick’s
Day and
bring the kiddos to Kids Fleadh at the Tribeca Cinema. Short films, food and
Irish step-dancing take center stage.
Discover the four
seasons
at the MoMA’s free family screening, a thematic group of shorts entitled
“Nature and the Changing Seasons.” Great for kids 4 and up.

School Bus! Head to the Tribeca Performing Arts Center for The Climate Challenge—an exciting musical
about global warming, recycling and conservation.
Fluff those feathers and head to the Bard Graduate Center‘s Family Day, best for
kids ages 6-12. Squawk at the bird-inspired shadow puppet show and then create
your very own duck, goose or ostrich puppet!
