Here’s What’s New at Great Wolf Lodge

Great Wolf Lodge in the Poconos has been a fave family vacation spot for years. Now, you have even more reason to go. It’s not just for splashing anymore.

What’s New for the Kids:

Slideboard! The big news is Slideboard, a unique interactive waterslide. How could a waterslide be any more fun, you ask? By turning it into a video game competition, of course! Kids need quick thinking (and quicker reflexes) as they race down LED-lit tunnels on rafts that are essentially video game controllers.

A screen at the Slideboarder lets you watch your kids’ progress throughout the ride. Just look for the screen names they chose, and you can see how they’re doing and where they’re racking up points.

More for Minis! Preschoolers will make a bee line for the Clubhouse Crew Station on the lower level. Littles can pick, stuff, and dress their own character to take home, then start an interactive journey especially for them with their new pal in tow.

The Upper Level! The second floor now houses two new attractions, a 3D XD Theatre, and Simon’s Challenge, a 60-minute high-tech game of Simon Says.

Harder Quests!  The next incarnations of the long-popular Magi Quest interactive scavenger hunt, Compass Quest and Shadow Quest is geared to kids above 8 through teens, and takes about four to six hours to complete. Kids can stop and start throughout their stay. And they may even meet a Yedi!

Here’s What’s New That You’ll Love, Too:

Cabana Service! At the refurbished pool, kick back and have somebody wait on you for a change.

A (Twenty) Two Seater! Check out the new bar at the outdoor pool. It’s right near a fire pit and giant games of checkers and Jenga.

Stink-free Sleeping! What does a person do with a poopy diaper in a hotel room? Stick it out on the balcony? Stick it out on the terrace? Run around the halls with it, trying to find a trash can? None of the above, not anymore. Just request “Diaper Den” service, and you’ll find a diaper disposal system waiting in your room, along with surprise goodies.

AWord About the Food:

So. Much. Better. OK, that’s three words. But it’s been no big secret that families weren’t going to Great Wolf Lodge for the food.  The good folks in charge of the dining experience listened to parents and revamped meal time to be healthier, fresher, and just, well, better. For example: Hot Dogs are all Hebrew National; local, organic ingredients are sourced; every eatery has lots of salads and fresh fruit; salad dressings are made on property.  Families are just as likely to be seen noshing on mini shrimp tacos and chunky, freshly-made salsa as fries. Plus—cue a sigh of relief from parents of peanut-allergic kids—every last thing made on the premises is nut free. Yet, believe it or not, food prices are staying the same.
